Water-Abrasive Suspension Cutting Systems
ANT Water Abrasive Suspension (WAS) cutting systems for cutting in air and underwater allow cutting into ordnance, dangerous tanks or vessels, cutting in explosives atmospheres. ANT’s WAS systems provide:
- Cuts that are free of dust and gas
- Cuts of less than 1 mm width
- Remotely operability
- Easily transportable systems
- Deep-water (underwater) cutting capability
- Several Mobile Abrasive Cutting Equipment “MACE” system
MACE Series
Environmental exposure over the time has chemical and/or physical effects on ammunition and often leads to a critical situation of the Unexploded Ordnance (UXO). Conventional Render Safe Procedure (RSP) is very often not feasible without contacting or shifting the UXO and therefore is considered as not secure. In such situations repeatedly it came to severe accidents with death tolls. Hence safety of transport to carry-off for final removal is also not given. Therefore in such cases blasting the UXO is so far used as a final RSP causing partly heavy collateral damages. In this context, ANT has developed its MACE Series. The mobile units allow to remove or deactivate the fuse remotely, risk-free and safe by using the WAS Technology and specially designed manipulation systems. The deployment of this technology around the globe has become state of the art today and is an accepted RSP world-wide. MACE was the original system developed for cutting into UXO. The cold-cuts delivered by MACE’s high-pressure water abrasive system assured the safest of operators while rendering the UXO safe for removal and transport.
Mini-MACE
Midi-MACE
The midi-MACE is a battery-powered system that’s yet more compact than the mini-MACE. Everything is integrated into one housing except the remote cutting nozzle. The midi-MACE combines an abrasive mixing unit and a high-pressure pump in a single casing. The working pressure of the unit, which is driven by a battery-powered electric motor, is 120 bar. Micro-MACE
The micro-MACE is another battery-powered system that’s yet more compact than the midi-MACE. Everything is integrated into one housing and the cutting nozzle is attached with an adjustable arm.
The micro-MACE combines an abrasive mixing unit, a high pressure pump and a nozzle holder in a single casing. The working pressure of the unit, which is driven by a battery-powered electric motor, is 80 bar. All of the MACE, mini-MACE, and midi-MACE systems can be operated via remote control and can be deployed by EOD robots Accessories are available for WAS, such as cutting tables, to allow precise geometric cuts in all kinds of solid materials
